Our
Mission

We aim to provide the place where all levels of players and all levels of coaches can come to improve on anything from nutrition to skill techniques.

I created AFU for the main reason of progressing the game that has made a huge impact on my life. I want to share with people everything I have learned with this sport. I noticed there was a lack of people committed to really creating a community of American Football who have grew up with the sport for 20+ years. Don’t get me wrong, the current people committed to growing the game here in Europe are doing a fantastic job, however, they are only focusing on the senior leagues, and most countries are overlooking the youth and those who cannot afford the huge financial commitments to be apart of the programs.

American Football is a game that takes more than having the best kit or having a few great players, this game takes 22 guys who are truly committed to the team, as well as committed to developing their game off the pitch.

I have built an amazing team with AFU, and we are dedicated to creating the focal point for everything American Football in England, with the overall goal of being the place to be for anything American Football in Europe.

Taylor Brown

Founder of AFUHUB & HEAD COACH

I have played American Football for 19 years, and of those years I have had much success individually. In High school I was voted to the All-Conference team twice for my position, I was also received Region All-star. In High school I was voted to the All-Conference team twice for my position, I was also named Region All-star. This award is given to the best player in the region over all other schools. My senior season I received the coaches award, which is given to a player every year that demonstrates leadership and being a mentor to younger players.

In college I played for 4 seasons, of these I received a couple of awards. My junior season I was selected to the 1st team All-Conference team and was selected to the AFCA First Team All-American team. This is the highest award a player can receive, meaning you are the best of the best for your position in the country The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.  I left Saint Francis to play in Europe and was placed on the Double Decade team, as one of the best safeties to come through the program. I feel I can help others with my experience and knowledge I’ve been given from my career.

    What
    Trainees say

    • "I've only been with the Falcons for half a season now, but the first day I met Taylor I thought that he'd already started the transition from player to coach. He was field side all day calling out how our plays should be corrected with such precision that I knew; not only was this in his blood, but also would I take anything he said with a full three course meal and a bottle of whiskey at the end. He's encouraging when we need that push and congratulate when we pull through, when I realized he was still in the game I knew he was a strong asset to the team. Having Taylor on the side of the grid through practice and play would be a great fortune for the falcons, not only does he know how we play and how we should evolve, he has evolved with us."

      Jason Howard Leicester Falcons
    • "Being coached by and playing with Taylor was a real pleasure for the last 2 seasons. Whether it's breaking down a training drill and explaining how and why we're using techniques in different situations or adjusting on the field he always made sure everyone was on the same page. I have never learnt as much about the defensive back position from my last 4 coaches combined before Taylor took over and as a result my mental game is by far my strongest aspect. He's helped me recognise route combinations and what's likely to come in different situations from a team’s tendency. Taylor would also take time to send me messages if I've had a particularly good/bad game to keep me motivated."

Matt Thomas Defensive Back Leicester Falcons
    • "One of the best guys I know, I cannot fault his leadership and communication skills as a coach which probably translates from his on the field ability. TBs determination to succeed is something that really stands out, that isn’t just in wins, that’s in seeing progress and improvement in players and seeing them achieve their goals. His knowledge and motivation are something that sets him apart from any coach I’ve had"

Josh Fagan Defensive Back Derby Braves
    • "I have known / coached Taylor for 4 years. I have been involved in Football for over 30 years. Taylor is without a doubt the most talented and committed player I have coached.  He always gives 100% in both practice and games. Taylor always has time not only for the rookies/team mates, but most importantly, the fans of the game who come watch him play. it’s an honour to not only have coached Taylor, but call to him a friend."

Noel Cassar Head Coach Derby Braves 2013-2017 and The Leicester Falcons
